Waterfall Canyon and Palisades Lakes

Amy and Jim went on an awesome hike yesterday.

We hiked 19.8 miles round trip to the waterfall

in Waterfall Canyon above Upper Palisades Lake.

Our feet are killing us, but it was awesome!!!

Amy at Lower Palisades Lake.

Four miles from the trailhead.

It has been really dry and we had some

late frost, but it looks like we will

have Huckleberries anyway.

We walked up to where that cave

is behind the waterfall.

Upper Palisades Lake on the way back down.

If Jared and Calvin will swim to that island,

I will swim it with you.

Palisades Creek on the way back down.

It was a beautiful day.

Hope we can walk in the morning :-)

"Happiness includes all that is really desirable and of true worth in pleasure, and much besides. Happiness is genuine gold, pleasure but gilded brass, which corrodes in the hand, and is soon converted into poisonous verdigris. Happiness is as the genuine diamond, which, rough or polished, shines with its own inimitable luster; pleasure is as the paste imitation that glows only when artificially embellished. Happiness is as the ruby, red as the heart's blood, hard and enduring; pleasure, as stained glass, soft, brittle, and of but transitory beauty.
