Yesterday we hiked to Surprise and Amphitheater Lakes
in Grand Teton National Park. Calvin, Megan, Evie
and Nathaly went with us. It was a beautiful day.

"The mountains are calling,
and we must go ..."

Amphitheater Lake
Notice there is still some ice on the lake.
This was a first.
Calvin stuck his big toe
in the lake and wimped out.
Either the water was very cold,
or Calvin is getting old enough
for his brain to overpower
the brawn.

When we completed the Amphithteater Lake
hike of ten miles with a 3,000 foot vertical rise,
these crazy ladies had not had enough,
so we took the boat across Jenny Lake
and ran up to Hidden Falls.
After Hidden Falls we drove to the top of Signal Mountain
for Nathaly to see the view. We ended the day
with dinner at Signal Mountain Lodge
and the two hour drive got us home at midnight.
