Spring Break 2010

Jared was out of school for the week for Spring Break,

so we headed to Southern Utah. The weather forcast

didn't look good but we were very lucky and had great

weather for our schedule. Monday we drove from

Bedford to Zion National Park and stayed three

nights at the Cliff Rose Inn in Springdale.

Tuesday we hiked the West Rim trail to Angel's Landing.

Jim sat on his favorite rock at Scout's Overlook

and waited while Jared and Amy climbed Angel's Landing

and then we continued north on the West Rim Trail

for a couple of miles until we finally gave up

because there was too much snow on the trail.

We went about a half mile past this point and then got

into too much snow in the canyon beyond us.

We had watched a rock climbing movie

at the IMAX theater, so Jared thought

he should give it a try !!!

Wednesday we hiked the East Rim Trail

to Observation Point. This is looking down

the canyon, and that is Angel's Landing

below us.

Wednesday night it snowed and Jared got these

pictures before we headed to St. George. The sky was

clearing off and it was really beautiful.

We drove up a few miles past the tunnel.

We stayed two nights with Grandpa and Grandma.
