Shoal Falls

Yesterday Mom and I, and Samantha hiked
to Shoal Falls.  The trailhead for this is located
about a mile or two downstream from Granite
Hot Springs.  As you might be able to tell
from the photos, there was not much water
in the falls. We made the same hike two
years ago and you can compare our photos
from July 30, 2011. We had much less snow
this past winter. Nevertheless, we had
a great day. On the way back, we stopped
and picked Huckleberries (think Huckleberry pie,
Cream Puffs with Huckleberries, Homemade
Ice Cream withe Huckleberries, Raspberry Jam
with Huckleberries, and today Mom put
Huckleberries on both of my pieces of my
early birthday cake.)  We ended the hike
with an hour soak in the pool.  We decided
that there should be a Hot Springs at
every trailhead.

Many of the wildflowers were on there way
out because of the drier season, but there
were many that were doing just fine.

We saw quite a few deer, including these two
little bucks.  Another couple we talked to on the trail
said they had seen a bear, but we did not.
We had another beautiful day in the wilds of Wyoming.
