Mystery Photos

These five photos were taken one day in the summer of 1985. You will easily guess the cutie in the pictures - she was my hiking buddy and photographic assistant. I was trying to get a good photo of a waterfall. The easy question is - who is she? Now for more of a challenge - name the three waterfalls and where they are located.

Oh Man, that's not in the 4-Generation book! My GUESS is Bannock, Glacier, and Hidden Falls all near Jenny Lake. (Thanks Google!)

Oh yeah, the cutie pie is Rosie.

Wow, what a look I had going on! My boys had a good laugh. I really like the knee high socks. I kind of remember that day, but I couldn't tell you what the names of the waterfalls are. Jennie's guesses sound good.

You both have the right girl.
Picture number two is Hidden Falls. It is on Cascade Creek just west of Jenny Lake. You can reach this side of the lake by walking around the lake or by taking a boat shuttle - we took the boat. Pictures four and five are taken just above Hidden Falls. Number four is at Inspiration Point overlooking Jenny Lake. Number five is a little way up Cascade Canyon. This is as far up this canyon as I have been. The trail continues up a well traveled trail to Lake Solitude - does any body want to go?
Pictures one and three are in a different park - they were taken on the same day - keep trying.

Lewis and Moose Falls located near the south entrance of Yellowstone Park??????

Too easy for Jennie and Google.
Picture number three is of Lewis Falls. It is on the Lewis River and is about ten miles inside the south entrance to Yellowstone. You can see this one from the road, so it is hard to miss.
Photo number one is Moose Falls. It is just a mile or so inside the south entrance. It is only about a hundred feet off of the road but is easy to miss if you don't know it's there. The smooth water effect is created by using a small aperature on the camera with a slow shutter speed.
